Welcome to the home page of the Dallas/Fort Worth based Stradivarius String Quartet. The string quartet is an established tradition that first appeared during the 18th century and remains for many the pinnacle of all classical music. A highly refined art form, quartet playing requires consummate technical skill and dedication. String quartet players must be inordinately precise and disciplined. In order to be able to communicate their music effectively, quartet members must spend time refining playing styles and developing a uniform musical language.

"Long experience has established the string quartet as the most perfect, concise, and self-contained combination in all music."

"The Musical Companion" edited by A. L. Bacharach

The string quartet repertoire is massive, ranging from music written in the 17th century to modern day classics such as Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of the Opera" and the Beatles "Eleanor Rigby." The string quartet's inherent flexibility and unified sound has been exploited by composers such as Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Debussy, and Bartok as a vehicle for some of the most beautiful and heart-wrenching music ever written.

Perfection...

The most perfect expression of human behavior is a string quartet."

Jeffrey Tate, British Conductor The New Yorker (April 30, 1990)

The dulcet and refined timbres of the string quartet, considered by renowned composers to be the highest form of musical expression, combined with the Stradivarius String Quartet's tonal richness, stylistic elegance, warmth and polish, will add a classic elegance to your special event.
